Example: Capturing crucial Job Information using Custom Fields

The Connect2Field Job Card offers a rich functionality of capturing job related information, so your field workers have enough details to carry on with their jobs. At times it becomes imperative to add job specific key points for reference..
For example, you may want to notify your field worker about the tools required for the job, or maybe apply a promo code while accepting payment..

Here is where the Job Custom Fields feature of Connect2Field comes in handy.. Lets explore this with an example..

From your dashboard choose:
Options -> Job Configuration -> Manage Job Custom Fields
Choose Add

For this example let us use MYOB Ref No as the new Custom Field.. Choose a Field Type and Click Save..

From this listing of Job Custom Fields you could choose to Edit or Delete a custom field..
We will Add another Custom Field to our list.. Click ADD..

Enter name as 'Promo Code'
Select Field Type as Check Box from dropdown
Enter the answers for the check box and click ADD
The codes we entered now are saved below as $ 100 New Year Promo etc
Click Save

This is now added to your Job Custom Fields List.
Let us now see how these custom fields we created appear on the job card..

Add_job2_display

We have created a new job for this example and added the basic info..
Choose Save & Job Add Details from the Save Menu
This will save the current details and re-open the Add Job Page for you to add additional info like Custom Fields or Products..
Here is how the screen looks now:

As seen above the Custom Fields we created earlier, now appear in the Job Details page..
The custom Fields help you put in job specific information and action accordingly..

Let us now see how to enable or disable these custom fields from appearing on the Mobile device..

From the Dashboard choose:
1) Options
2) FieldWorker WebApp Configuration
3) Job Configuration

This brings up the Job Configuration sheet as below:

Scroll to the bottom of the screen.. that is where the custom fields we created are listed..

The custom fields created are all listed here..
By default the Job Custom Fields are auto-selected to appear on the mobile device..
If you would like to disable any, just uncheck the box next to the Field name..

Job Custom Fields is one of the feature you can use to customize Connect2Field for your service business..
