Example: Creating Sub-Jobs while in the Field
This tutorial will show you how your Field Workers can create jobs on the go, with a special highlight to the Connect2Field feature of creating Sub-Jobs.
Let us see this with an example.
We are in Job# 257, which is a Blocked Drain Inspection at the clients location.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen
Click on Start Job.. It asks you to select the time. Click Save when done..
Now you are in middle of doing the job. Your clients requests a look at Blocked Drain they have on the 4th Floor too
In the scenario as above, the task of inspecting the 4th Floor is new and seperate from your current job.
Here is where the Connect2Field feature of adding Sub-Jobs come in handy..
Scroll to the bottom of the screen
The Add Sub Job screen has the clients details already put in.. The Service Description field is also set up by default, because you are adding a Sub Job to an existing Blocked Drain Inspection Job..
Notice the Job No.. It is auto assigned as 257.1 (indicating a Sub Job to the Main Job# 257)
Scroll to the bottom..
You can see we have added some special comments in the Service Description Field just above the standard service notes..
This helps to keep your Admin at the office aware about the request..
In this example, we are assigning the job to the same field worker John Smith cause, we are doing the sub job right away..
You could alternatively choose a different Field worker from the drop down.. And then Dispatch..
Click Save when done..
The next screen takes you back to your original Job# 257 and you complete the job following the Start-Finish job Steps.
Let us take a look what happened to our new Job# 257.1
Click on New Jobs at the top
Here you can see Job# 257.1
You follow the same steps, Accept/Start/Finish like all other jobs to work on this job.
Let us now look at your Admin Section for this Job
As you can see the Job we booked in the Mobile/FieldWorker WebApp, is now appearing in the Job Central for your admin.
Connect2Field syncs your office with fieldwork.. As is apparent, from the above example, Field Workers can create Jobs while on the go, and the Admin in office is updated and can work on invoicing for the jobs..
This is one example of how a feature like Sub Jobs can immensly help you manage your field work and job creations..
