Inventory Management for your Fieldworker's Vans
This tutorial will explain how to create Van's as warehouses and managing stock/inventory for them..
Login to your Connect2Field account.. For better understanding we will explain with an example of IT service/repair company 'CheckMate'.. They provide on-site service and repairs and have a need of maintaining stock in Vans..
From your Dashboard, choose:
Options->Inventory Management
Choose the Warehouse Tab..
Here you can see a list of all previously created Warehouses..
To add a new one, hit 'Add Warehouse'
Enter the details in the new warehouse box..
Ensure to set the 'Status' as active by selecting the check box..
Hit 'Add' when done to save..
Back to Warehouse listing page..
The new warehouse we created, 'Van 03' has been added to the list..
Let us now add products/stock to this warehouse.. Click 'Products' tab..
Select the product you wish to add to the warehouse and click 'Add Stock'
Notice the current stock of the product 'Quick Heal Anti Virus' is 4 units..
Fill in the details as above.. Notice we have selected the Warehouse we created, 'Van 03.. The stock of 101 units will be added to this warehouse..
Hit 'Add Stock' to save.. Back to the products screen..
The stock has now been updated to reflect the additional 101 units we put in..
For this example we have added couple of other products to this warehouse 'Van 03'
Let us check out the 'Van 03' warehouse.. Hit 'Warehouse' tab..
Hit the 'Edit Warehouse' button for the 'Van 03' warehouse..
Under the products screen you can see all the products added to this warehouse along with the stock..
Hit 'Print' to print a copy of the current stock level in the warehouse..
Let us now assign the newly created warehouse to a field worker.. See below:
From your dashboard, choose:
Options->Users->Manage Users
We are linking the new warehouse 'Van 03' to our field worker 'Ethan White'..
Click 'View'
Under the user details screen, there is an option to choose Warehouse.. We have selected 'Van 03' for 'Ethan White'
How does this help?
Once a warehouse is linked with a field worker:
- See and Add products to jobs from the mobile WebApp..
- If a product which belongs to the warehouse 'Van 03' is added to a job and 'Ethan' is the field worker, then stock will be deducted from this warehouse.. This means that even if the same products are there in other Vans/Warehouses, still stock will be deducted from this warehouse only, as it got linked to the Field Worker..
The above feature is typically useful for businesses who keep stock and parts in 'Vans'.. It allows for real time product addition, sales and accordingly managing inventory..
