Creating Recurring Jobs in Connect2Field
This tutorial will explain how to create recurring jobs..
Service business may have contracts to provide service at regular intervals.. So rather than creating separate job sheets for each job, you could create copies of your master job in just a few clicks.. Connect2Field job management system takes the hassle off creating recurring jobs, say for example maintenance jobs every fortnightly or the 1st Monday of every month, for you..
Let us see how..
Above we are adding a new job for a client.. Fill up the required details as for any other job..
Hit 'Save & Add Job Details'
The above is an example of creating a fortnightly job.. Have a look at the options selected..
It says, the Job has to recur 'Daily' but with an interval of '14 Days' and for a maximum of '5' times..
Hit 'Save'.. Let us check how these jobs are seen in Job Central..
1) Recurring jobs are created with a dot after the parent job code.. So we have job codes, 10091.1, 10091.2 etc
2) The recurring jobs are not dispatched by default.. They have to be manually dispatched to the FieldWorker by clicking view against the job, from within the job card..
3) Shows the job dates/time as per the recurring algorithm we set above..
All job details from the parent job, for example, Field Worker Name, Job Type and description are carried over to the child jobs..
This is really helpful as it takes the pain away of putting the same job information all over again for child jobs.. You could, however, choose to change any of these fields for individual jobs..
Let us see another recurring example below:
Here we have chosen to create recurring jobs to happen Every Tuesday..
So we have created recurring jobs to happen: 'Every Week', 'Every Tuesday' and the end limit set to '31 Aug 2011'
Let us see how they appear in Job Central:
Notice the dates and times are set as per the algorithm setting we did above..
Also, you can set how far in advance you would like recurring jobs to show in your Job Central page.. Let us see how this is configured..
From your Dashboard, choose:
Options->Job Configuration->Manage Reocccurring Job Time
The above screen lets you configure, in days, how far in advance you would like recurring jobs to show in your Job Central page..
For the above example of '60' days, if you have any recurring jobs that are due post 60 days, they are not shown in your job central page.. However, when the difference between the recurring job date and the current date becomes '60' those jobs are automatically displayed in your job central..
You could try different algorithms as per your business specific needs.. The Connect2Field Recurring module takes care of creating the jobs for you..
